Circular Packaging Product & System
Client
Circular Packaging Group and NF&TA
Using design methodology as a tool to investigate opportunities and barriers for a circular packaging system in Norway.
K8 was engaged by Circular Packaging Cluster (CPC) and NF&TA to assist with design expertise in the nationally supported cluster project Sirkulære resurser i Viken, blokeringer og handlingsrom.
This research project aimed to generate findings serving as a foundation for the subsequent development of a circular packaging solution. K8's engagement encompassed diverse methodologies, including fieldwork, interviews, observations, systems thinking, service design, mapping, illustration, and more.
K8 participated in organizing a larger workshop at Sentralen in Oslo. Developing conversation tasks and design tools that activated participants for ideation and discussion.
The project's content consisted of three main tasks:
Research
To form an understanding of existing solutions and services, K8 visited a wide range of stakeholders. Through interviews and observations, the needs and challenges of each actor were identified.
Mapping
What might the future of circular packaging products look like? Alongside research and fieldwork, a variety of scenarios were developed as alternative solutions. These scenarios were visualized through illustrations and flowcharts to clarify their differences and facilitate comparison.
Workshop organization
Through a workshop the projects stakeholders were brought together to discuss, give feedback, and brainstorm future scenarios. K8 facilitated insights delivery, organized activities and discussions.
